London Trip, 2011 - Part 1

London - Day 1.

Arrived in London in the afternoon. Took the train with our big ass luggage in tow. I shall not bore you on the details of lugging the luggage around the many many staircases in the depths of London. Suffice to say, aku macam borderline nak nangis dan menyesal bawak barang banyak.

First nak kena check in hotel dulu. We booked ourselves into one of the cheap bed and breakfast along terrace. We got down at Paddington station. Looks easy eh. Not when u discovered that there's 5 different exit to choose from. Once on the street level, we lost of bearing totally. The 10 minutes walk jadi 20 minutes walk. And it was drizzling. Grrr.

Finally we arrived at the hotel. When I say hotel I meant the cupboard under the stairs. We were first offerred a 'super nice' room at the top floor. You will love it (my ass!). Top floor = attic. Top floor = climbing endless staircases. Ya rabbi, staircase punya la curam and sempit. Ingat one flight je. Dah sampai the first landing, eh tak naik lagi.. dan lagi.. dan lagi. Till dah naik tangga yg kecik aje mcm nak masuk reban ayam pulak. Setibanya di puncak gunung everest itu, si mamat penjaga hotel serta merta dianugerahkan darjah kebesaran pulau keb*b**n. Kerana statement2 dia yang sangat cheebs. 1. "I can see that you are going to have problem climbing up the stairs" (he said that to my huffing and puffing face!)
2. Masa nak turun, boleh dia cakap dengan aku, "Excuse, can I go first...". Dah la tangga tu muat aku je. Nak pulak dia menyelit. Nasib aku tak tolak dia ke bawah. Or worst aku pulak yang tergolek 3 tingkat ke bawah.

So we settled with the small room on the same floor as the lobby. Small as in kena take turn nak bukak luggage masing-masing. Small as in nak pergi toilet, sorang kena lompat duduk atas katil for the other to manuver jalan macam ketam nak bergerak. Small as in.. oh well you get the drift. Come and think of it (if nak kira exchange rate), itulah hotel paling mahal pernah aku bayar dlm sejarah kehidupan. If I pay that kind of money elsewhere ie kat Msia, aku dapat duduk 2 bilik agaknya. Satu bilik khas utk aku berak and satu lagi khas untuk aku tido.

But the Paddington area is great. Senang nak cari halal food. We had curry and fish and chips. Even found a fast food shop that serves rice and lamb chop. Nasib tak jumpa the shop earlier. If tak mati aku hari2 belasah lamb aje. Also tempat tu rupanya dekat dengan Imperial College London as well as St Mary Hospital. Tempat Prince Wills beranak dulu. Pagi-pagi jalan kat area tu nice la with the flowers blooming. Berangan jangan tak berangan.

Right settled check in. Now what? Kakak aku yang bawak everything but the kitchen sink nak beli jacket pulak. Though so plan for shopping today, that's exactly what we did. Dari Marks and Spencer ke Gap ke tah apa benda lagi. Aku macam terpegun kejap menengok Food Market kat M&S. They have chocolate popcorn! And raspberry 2 box for 1 pound. Assortment of biscuits. And did I mentioned chocolate popcorn? It was raining the whole evening that day. So all sight seeing went out the window. Balik room terus terbongkang.

Itu Patutnya Saya (heheh)

This just in. I like this song very much. I'm now a teen bopper fan. This is a mindless entry.

That Should Be Me - Justin Bieber/ Rascal Flatts

Everybody's laughing in my mind
Rumors spreading 'bout this other guy

Do you do what you did, what you did with me?
Does he love you the way I can?
Did you forget all the plans that you made with me?
'Cause baby, I didn't

That should be me holding your hand
That should be me making you laugh
That should be me, this is so sad
That should be me, that should be me

That should be me feeling your kiss
That should be me buying you gifts
This is so wrong, I can't go on
'Til you believe that that should be me
That should be me

You said you needed a little time for my mistakes
It's funny how you use that time to have me replaced
Did you think that I wouldn't see you out at the movies?
Whatcha doing to me?

You're taken' him where we used to go
Now if you're trying to break my heart
It's working 'cause you know

That, that should be me holding your hand
That should be me making you laugh
That should be me, this is so sad
That should be me, that should be me

That should be me feeling your kiss
That should be me buying you gifts
This is so wrong, I can't go on
'Til you believe that should be me

I need to know should I fight for our love or disown?
It's getting harder to shield this pain in my heart, ooh

That should be me holding your hand
That should be me making you laugh
That should be me, this is so sad
That should be me, that should be me

That should be me feeling your kiss
That should be me buying you gifts
This is so wrong, I can't go on
'Til you believe that that should be me, ooh

Holding your hand, that should be me
The one making you laugh, oh baby
Oh, that should be me, yeah

That should be me, giving you flowers
That should be me, talking for hours
That should be me, that should be me
That should be me

Never should've let you go
I never should've let you go
That should be me
Never should've let you go
That should be me

Never should've let you go
Never should've let you go
That should be me

I dedicate the song to the following. Hahaha.

33rd time's the charm!

2011, Birthday no 33. Looks pretty cool, but celebration is kept at bay (at least till the weekend heheh). Then again it's still 8am :P. Bercakap macam all birthdays were celebrated like Sweet16 on MTV. Hahahah. It's just like any other day I suppose.

Do you still remember all of your birthdays all these years? Where you were, what you did, what you ate, who you celebrated with, yada yada yada... I can't even remember my birthday last year. Had to look it up my own blog. Ohhh rupanya aku kat Qatar. Now I remember, I went for a shopping spree at BHS. Heheheh. So walaupun malas, I shall write something in the blog about my birthday this year... as a reminder for next year.

So what words of wisdom shall I part for my 34th year predecessor?

Well, dear future me, please remember to drink loads of water, cut your credit card spending, for heaven sake please exercise (your 32/33 old self still saying that it's too hot to go jogging outside) and please try to catch Adele and Streophonics live!

Finally I shall post this song, which I have been saying Scotty should sing on AI (which he did, with Tim M nonetheless, yipee), and not just because I think I might be a shotgun trotting, truck driving, possum eating, trailer park living, redneck in my former life (this sudden interest in country songs is a bit menakutkan); it's because I like this song for its simple yet deep lyrics.

Apa aku merepek ni syaitan?!!!

Oh and yes, Khairolinski, Happy Birthday! Sangat best ada 'twin' friend. Heheh. Here's to us working again on our Birthday :(

Live Like You Were Dying (Tim McGraw)

He said I was in my early 40's,
With a lot of life before me,
And a moment came that stopped me on a dime.
I spent most of the next days, lookin' at the x-rays,
Talkin' 'bout the options and talkin' 'bout sweet time.
Asked him when it sank in, that this might really be the real end.
How's it hit ya, when you get that kind of news.
Man what ya do.
And he says,

[Chorus]

I went sky divin',
I went rocky mountain climbin',
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull name Fumanchu.
And I loved deeper,
And I spoke sweeter,
And I gave forgiveness I've been denying,
And he said someday I hope you get the chance,
To live like you were dyin'.

He said I was finally the husband,
That most the time I wasn't.
And I became a friend a friend would like to have.
And all the sudden goin' fishing,
Wasn't such an imposition.
And I went three times that year I lost my dad.
Well I finally read the good book,
And I took a good long hard look at what I'd do
If I could do it all again.
And then.

[Chorus]

Like tomorrow was a gift and you've got eternity
To think about what you do with it,
What could you do with it, what can
I do with with it, what would I do with it.

[Chorus]
Sky divin',
I went rocky mountain climbin',
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull name Fumanchu.
And I loved deeper,
And I spoke sweeter,
And I watched an eagle as it was flyin'.
And he said someday I hope you get the chance,
To live like you were dyin'.

To live like you were dyin'.
To live like you were dyin'.
To live like you were dyin'.
To live like you were dyin'
