Bangkok Trip 11 Nov - 13 Nov

Posted by Picasa

Bangkok Trip - another something that we planned for almost four years jugak. Hahahhaha. Finally we decided to go. Ye macam orang kaya yang pack their bag and jet off ke mana2 yang suka. Aku mmg gila. Baru balik Bali a few days pergi Bangkok pulak. Hehheheh.

So, apa yang best?

1. Loy Khrathong

Thanks to Kay and Ajiben yang brave the throngs of millions, we ended up on a boat on Choa Phraya River. At night! Memang crazy. Dapatlah tengok dengan dekat how people release the Loy Khrathong and pray by the river.

2. Hotel

Kay managed to find a good package at Air Asia. Memang best la. It's 4 star hotel with great breakfast buffet. It has a roof top swimming pool (yang tak pergi berenang pun). Nice comfy bed. Pendek kata memang best.

3. Platinum Mall

Mall ni memang best. You can buy stuff macam borong. It's rows and rows of baju and what not. Memang rambang mata!

4. The Grand Palace

Though it was hot, it was a relaxing stroll around the palace ground. We lepak every now and then in the shady spots. The place was beautiful. Memang best la

Yang hampeh

1. Aku tak jumpa kedai tom yam yang proper. Memang gagal!

2. They can't speak English. Payahnya nak explain benda. The taxi driver send us to a hospital instead of the hotel. Nak cari handbag yang nice pun takde sape tahu. I said 'No have' and 'same-same' till now. Sighhhh

2. There's too many shopping place. Too little time. Stress!

The funnies

1. The panic Imigresen office when we were rushing off to the departing gate.

And using a small boy as a decoy. Hahahahaha. Memang lawak. Well... I was running off to the gate. I was yelling to Kay .."aku pergi dulu sebab takut nanti lambat"... Kay and Jib was behind us. Tengah nak go thru the metal detetors. Then tiba2 macam drama Melayu.. Jib slipped thru and was running after me. "Jon! .. Jon!...Jon!" To the shock of me, Kay and the imgresen dude. Kesian Jib. Terpinga-pinga dia bila kena jerit dengan Kay. Hehehehe.. Memang gila. Nasib baik sempat.

2. The plane hit turbulance.

Ada orang siap2 jerit2 takut, tapi aku boley gelak2. Sebab aku dah makan motion sickness pill and high as a kite.

Kay and Ajiben - Thanks for the good time!

Bali Trip - 30th Oct - 2 Nov

Akhirnya, setelah plan and non stop talking about it for almost 4 years. The 3 of us sampai jugak ke Bali. Me, Rosli and Nani. Suffice to say we had a blast! So did my credit card and bank balance - mmg blast into space.

After memilih hotel (nak yang swimming pool besar, tepi pantai, tapi murah), Rosli booked us into Inna Kuta Beach. Rosli had a room for himself, while me and Nani shared the other room. Setibanya di hotel, akak nampak Hard Rock Hotel Megastore across the street from the hotel. Terima Kasih Rosli atas pilihan hotel yang begitu best sekali.

So apa yang best?

1. Sukawati
This is a shopping haven. Situated somewhere in Ubud kot. Kat sini kiranya macam pasar borong and only the locals plus the 3 of us aje yang kelihatan. No mat salleh ok. The things are way cheaper than in Kuta. We bought paintings, carvings, begs and a rainbow of slippers. Ok yang rainbow of slippers tu aku aje. Macam nak bukak kedai Jukebox pulak bila balik Malaysia

2. Hard Rock Cafe Bali 50% sale!
Macam tau-tau aje kitaorang nak pergi sana. Our trip coincide dengan sale HRC yang katanya dibuat setahun sekali aje. 50% semua barang. Bayangkan. It was on the last day of our stay. Though we were scheduled to fly back in the afternoon, sanggup beratur panjang sebab sale punya pasal. The sale started at 10 am, and pukul 9 kitaorg dah terpacak kat situ. Mcm bosan pulak so pergi shopping tempat lain. Datang balik at 10.30am line pun dah panjang. Kugagahi jua demi t-shirt yang murah. Heheheh. Almost 2 hours later, we got in. Barang pun dah nak habis. Tapi korek2 beli jugak.

3. Hard Rock Megastore (Hard Rock Hotel) and their staff
Actually hari2 kitaorg melawat kedai hard rock ni. Mostly sebab nak relax lepas dah jalan penat2. Finally we decide to buy all the stuff that we had been eyeing for the past few days. That night dah nak tutup dah pun kedai tu, I think we were the last customers. So sempat la borak2 dengan depa. They didn't mind of us posing in the shopping. Ambik kau, bergambar macam tokey kedai. Though tak nampak, aku sebenatnya bergambar pakai seluar tido. Malam tu panas sangat sebab lepas jalan dekat sepuluh batu along the beach from a shopping complex back to our Hotel. Ni semua Rosli la punya idea. (Read more on the Funnies below)

4. Seafood at Segara
After berhari2 asyik makan macam sayur2 and tonnes of croissants, aku dah tak larat dah. We found this seafood restaurant in the shopping complex by the beach. Tak ingat apa nama shopping complex tu. But enough said, the food was fabulous! And atmosphere was great. Very breezy and relaxing. We pull all stop here, apa lagi dig in!

5. Sunset at Jimbaran

Supposedly the main attraction is here the food and the sunset. Tapi food dia suck big time. If anyone ever goes here, minum aje la teh botol. Tak payah makan. However, the atmosphere mmg best! You can really chill while burying your feet into the soft white sand and listen to the band singging Knock On Heaven's door. Now, that's life!

6. Sang Hanuman from Kecak Dance

We saw the Kecak Dance on the a stage on top of a clif in Uluwatu. Somehow I find the Kecak dance a bit lacklustre from the one that I saw many years ago. Pun begitu, once the light up the fire for the so called fire dance, baru la ada excitement sket. The dude who played Sang Hanuman, mmg gila. He was kicking the 'unggun api' around like nobody's business. The one that he kicked into the ocean, was a huge balls of fire. Aku dok terpikir bila pulak hutan keliling ni nak terbakar.

7. Photo Shoot at Rice Terrace

Kitaorg pergi tour dari pagi sampai petang, we were suppose to stop for just a few minutes to look at the rice terrace. Macam la tak pernah tgk padi. Driver tu mesti kata kitaorang jakun. the 5 minutes stop tetiba jadi macam photo shoot. Dah la hujan renyai-renyai. Banyak la pose 'lihatlah dunia', 'lihatlah tanaman kontanku'. Hahahahah

The funnies

1. Rosli si artist Bali

A lot of the folks in Bali said that Rosli looked like an artist here in Bali. It annoys Rosli very much. Hehehehe. Aku and Nani tukang gelak aje la. We did ask the guys at HRC who was the artist, but he said he might looked like someone in Radja.

2. Pirates of Kuta Beach

Setelah last round of shopping at the mall by the beach (aku mmg tak ingat apa nama dia), Rosli suggested that we should walk by the beach. Dekat aje. Ok la.. sebab malas nak jalan kat jalan raya pun. Traffic banyak. As we move away from the mall, the beach was getting darker and darker. Dah la pasir-pasir tu asyik terbenam2 aje. Memang dekat tapi penat! Just imagine the 3 of us dengan berbungkus2 bag berjalan tepi beach yang gelap. Serious macam nak seludup barang ok. And asyik2 we stumble upon couple doing the wrong side of business dalam gelap. Ya rabbi, memang kelakar banget! Berpeluh2 aku jalan malam tu! Nasib tak pengsan.

3. Guide with Americano Soul

His name was Adi. The whole 3 hours he was with us, he kept speaking english with us. Which we don't mind. But out of respect we try to speak Bahasa Indonesia to him, and yet he kept answering us back in Englsh. Rosli even used his A+ indon lingo, still mamat tu speak London with us. Tak tahan aku! Yang paling best, it was Saturday nite and he kept on callling his friends.." hey let's hang out and chill" Chill braderrr!

Yang hampeh

1. Tak jumpa nasi padang.
Would you believe it? Pergi Indon tapi tak jumpa nasi padang. Actually tak jumpa kat area Kuta. Ada kat area airport yang jauh. Kecewa banget.

2. Monyet in Uluwatu.
Ok memang gatal nak pergi tengok Kecak Dance kat Uluwatu. Konon hebat la nak tgk the dance with the sunset in the background. Little that I know nak sampai situ kena meredah hutan yang infested with bad ass monkey! Real bad ass monkey! Scarry sial. Sampai situ, the tour dude siap kata "Welcome to the Jungle". Siut aje. Aku memang avoid eye contact at all cost, sebab takut monyet tu terkam, nanti ada pulak keluarkan youtube tunjuk aku pijak2 monyet2 itu.

3. Besakih
Memang degil nak jugak pergi Besakih walapun semua tour guide advise against it. They advise jangan pergi sebab nanti asyik kena rip off aje. We thot how bad can it be? Hahahahha memang betul pun. We were ripped off from the base of the mountain and back. Konon ada special tour guide. Penipu haram. Before nak assign tour guide, ketua guide tu konon nak bagi briefing. Ingat briefing apa la. The dialog goes this way:

" Iya.. Ini merupakan pura paling sacred di Bali. Di atas sedang ada upacara. Bagi yang tidak mahu bersembahyang, hanyalah boleh jalan di externalnya sahaja"

He was showing us a chart of the whole place on a piece of laminated paper. We actually hung on every word that came from his mouth. Then he flip the paper.. and said

" Ya.. di atas sedang ada upacara. Yang bukan beragama Hindu hanya boleh berjalan di externalnya sahaja. Ini merupakan pura terbesar dan sacred bagi kami di Bali"

The 3 of us, went "Huh?".

And then he showed us a book with the 'donation' given out by other tourists. Hahhahahha. Aku telah don my heartless, stubborn hat. Apa jugak dia cakap I refuse to give them more money than I already offerred. Finally dia agree la. Nasib baik la dia tak hantar anjing to chase us down the mountain.

Dah naik mountain tu ingat dah habis la... only to be met by kids yang beg for your money. They even have a song when they ask you for money

" Mana duitnya... mau belanja... nak beli buku... mau sekolah"

OMG. Aku generally bukan la kedekut. Just that masa tu memang takde small change. Kang aku keluarkan 50K rupiah kang, satu bukit tu pulak kejar aku. Cukuplah aku kena maki berbakul hari tu.

4. Flying out from Bali.

Aku tak paham kenapa susah sangat nak keluar dari Bali. There were about 5 checkpoints, tah berapa kali body check and metal detectors. Maybe benda tu tak la annoying sangat tapi our smart driver telah dropped us of at the domestic terminal instead of internatiol terminal. Sebab dia kata Air Asia kat domestic. Tah kenapa kita pun percaya aje. Sekali tu salah. Ya Allah. Jauh la pulak nak pergi international terminal tu. Before that ada potter angkatkan bag kitaorg, dah bayar duit. Dia kata if nak tolak luggage kitaorg pergi International terminal kena charge 50K rupiah. Hangin la aku. Aku kata, tak payah. Jangan pegang beg. Jangan tengok pun. So there we were walking the frickin 3 km to the international terminal with me pulling along a small elephant behind me. Ya beg aku overload dah berat nak mampus! (Hehhe terima kasih kawan-kawan, disebabkan beg aku yang berat itu kita semua terpaksa angkut byk barang naik flight. Owe you guys!). Tu yang aku rasa nak hangin bila kena go thru the whole shebang of check points. Adoi by the time kitaorg habis segala check in, rasa macam dah habis 10km marathon! Penat gilosh.

But all in all, it was a fun fun fun holiday. Would we be back? Definitely.

p/s: Nani, Rosli - I see our name written on the rocks at Tanah Lot. Heheheheh... tapi ingat we are only allowed around the external sahaja! Hahahahah

pp/s: sampai sudah tak swim pun dlm pool kat hotel tu :P

...out with 2008

Ya rabbi. Rasa sungguh berkurun dah tak blog sampai lupa password sendiri. There's so many things to write.. tapi so the very lazy. Cerita pun dah basi. Tapi I have less than 2 days nak menulis about this year. So kuatkan semangat, let the blogging diarrhea begin.

Lawyer.. Magistrate?

Talking about Ibu Mertuaku, tetiba terasa nak cari clip from the movie. Akak suka youtube. Semua ada.

Check out this scene - Siapa dia Kassim Selamat? Lawyer Magistrate? Ahli Muzik? Pantang datuk nenek aku main muzik. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. Courtesy of pinolobu@youtube.com

And.. utk scene paling dramatic dari Sejarah Pilem Melayu - "Menangis Konon.. bladebla.. followed by Ammmpunnn Kassimmmm"... Hmm I think we played out this scene in during one of the year end school concert or something. My friend played Mak Bonda.. complete with kebaya ketat. I wonder if she still remembers it. Hmm...
Anyway, this is courtesy of pinolulu@youtube.com jugak

Menangis konon....

..(Sudahlah menikah dengan anak aku, satu SEN pun kau tak bayar!")

The ever famous dialog from Ibu Mertuaku.
The same line I wish to say to the Malaysian Goalkeeper, who managed to let not 1 but 3 goals in against Vietnam... sekaligus menyukarkan lagi laluan Malaysia ke peringat separuh akhir ( Hasbullah Awang would say).

Nak kata Malaysia main teruk sangat, tak jugak. Tapi nak kata bagus tu, memang tidak la. Kiranya macam biasa la main - menyakitkan hati! There was a lot of chances, tapi asyik kena tiang aje. Si No 8, toy boy a certain actress pulak, memang tak membantu langsung. Harap kasut aje color pink ke merah tah. Midfield pulak mmg mcm dah pergi minum kopi dekat Patong Beach. Sekor pun aku tak nampak. And then there's the biggest blunder, the defense. Well, particularly Mr Keeper.

Percaya tak there's a wiki entry for him? Read here. Aparently he was named - The most valuable Player by FAM for 2007/08 season. I REST MY CASE. APAKEJADKEJADHAR. Begitulah hebatnya mutu bola sepak Malaysia.

Due to this lost, to reach the semis, Malaysia will now have to beat Thailand or hope Lao will beat Vietnam, and ensure that the stars align at precisely 7.45pm tomorrow, which has the same odds as me winning Miss Universe.

The last goal was the silliest goal I ever saw. After which I saw the Keeper sobbing into his hands near the goal post.

Menangis konon....

This was 17 days ago...

The pictures above was taken on 11th and 13th November 2008. 13 days later, Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok was shutdown after being held under siege by anti-governement protesters. (read more here)

I just couldn't believe it!

We did plan to go to Bangkok around 25th Nov.. but after we discovered that Loy Krathong will be on the 12th, we felt that 11-13th Nov was the best date to go. Alhamdulillah, selamat pergi dan balik.

I just can't imagine if we are stucked there with thousands of other people. No flights out. Jadi la pulak Die Hard 5.0 - Taste of The Last Tom Yam.

We were just there taking pictures here and there. And running around thru out the terminal trying to stop at as many shops as possible while trying to make it for our flight and our gate, which as usual is at the end of the earth. Imagine Hillbillies meet Home Alone - the whole family going on vacation - late for their flights, kind of thing. When will I ever learn? It's 2 hours before flight.. not 20 minutes :P

The airport was huge! Lagi besar dari KLIA. The duty free shops pun best. Quite a number of major labels were there. Well, I hope everyone will manage to find their way back home amidst the chaos.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unlike Bangkok which had some kekecohan a couple of months before, I went to Bali with a clear mind. Macam takde apa-apa. Rupanya, the Bali bombers were scheduled to be executed. The news runs day in day out of how security was tighten and police were anticipating riots. Travel warning was issued all over the world. And yet, here we are right smack in the middle of action, satu hape pun tak tau.

Every morning while getting ready, we would listen to the TV. Hari ni cerita Amrozi makan apa, masuk bilik mana, kampung dia di mana, helikopter nak bawa mayat dia nanti landing kat mana la.. apa la.

Despite it all, things remain calm in Bali. In fact diaorang pun macam tak peduli with what's going on. News paper pun tak baca. Aku je beriya-iya nak beli Koran sebab nak baca pasal the execution. Beli la Bali Post ke apa tah.. sepatah haram pun aku tak paham. Sampai dah balik Malaysia pun, the execution has not been carried out yet. Again, alhamdulillah selamat pergi dan balik.

They were executed on 9th November. Innalillah. Whether what they did was right, or whether it is really Jihad, hanya Allah sahaja yang menentukan. As sad and unfair as it seems that lives were taken abruptly by the bomb that they planted, I just had a small thought - those who died were mostly party revellers at Paddy and Sari Club, at least take comfort of knowing that they were having real a good time before the bomb went off. They die happy.

Sepagi di A1GP

Posted by Picasa
Memang dah lama nak pergi tgk A1 GP ni. Ada la jugak once or twice dapat ticket free tapi malas nak pergi. Akan tetapi, coming into this race Malaysia team was in number one spot with 28 points. Wah wah wah.... walaupun aku tak pernah mengundi di pilihanraya, when it comes to sporting events - akak so the patriotic one.
We'll we got not one but 5 free tickets. Semua kat grandstand. If it's F1, dah ribu raban dah tu. Walaupun kerja the night before, I forgo my sleep and drove to Sepang Circuit with my dad, sister, brother and two nephews.
Aha.. so the very good, sebab orang tak ramai, parking murah and parking dekat pulak tu (tak macam F1). We got tickets for the whole 3 day shebang - from practise session on Friday to Feature race on Sunday. Since this is the first time (plus aku still kena keje malam tu), we agree to just watch the sprint race.
Mula-mula nak duduk depan Malaysia pit. Lepas tu gatal nak duduk kat starting line pulak. After half hour of taking pictures, the race is finally going to start. Yipeee. The boys are excited and gelak2 kan aku konon berlagak nak pakai ear plug. Sekali tu bila the engines are fired up, semua rasa macam telinga nak tercabut! Baru kau tahu labu! For the sprint race, after the first safety lap with the safety car, they will immediately sprint down the lane as soon as the safety car dives into the pit. Huyooo..everyone is on their feet now..adrenalin pumping....Come on Malaysiaaaaa...... here comes the car..camera readdyyy..... Ehhhhh tetiba ada tayar bergolek depan aku. Damn it! There's a 3 car pile up at the corner coming into the grandstand. Jealousnya orang yang duduk kat corner tu. Check out here for pictures of the crash.
The race came to a complete stop. Red flag out. Lorrrr. Team's that are out India, USA and tah sapa. The cars were totalled out and they had to bring out the cranes to pull the cars out. 15 minutes later, the race start again. All cars managed to clear out the first corner this time. The race is ONNN. Yeay Malaysia is now on 8th spot. From where I sit, I can see the straight line in front of the pit right down to the first corner, as well as the naik bukit part behind the pit area. So we were counting the cars to see Malaysia no berapa. Eh... mana pergi the yellow car ni? Looorrrrrr Malaysian car picked up a puncture pulak and was limping to go back to the pit. There goes the race. Malaysia ended up in 15 spot, way out of the point positions.
Walaupun kecewa, we had a great time. Keluar tu ada pulak rows of Lotus and Ferari. Apa lagi posing time people! We had lunch and went back to catch the feature race pulak. Maybe it's not Malaysia week. We lost the lead as the team ended 10th in the feature race. Malaysia was in position for a podium finish, tapi biasak la.. ada mis comms pulak, the driver went into the pit when the crew was not ready for him. So salah sapa tu?
Whatever pun, next year nak pergi lagi (with free tickets of course :))

Ida & Tania - I salute you!

I owe a lot of people apologies. Some of it I admit I was wrong, some of it I hope no one will ever brought it up ever again. But this time around, I was wrong and I should apologize. I'm admitting it and I'm writing about it in this blog.

Boy... I was WRONG. with captital W!

When I first saw that Ida Neria and Tania will be the contestant of the TARA3, my first thought was "Hek eleh... takde ke orang lain?". Then I saw their 'description' - Heiress?! Takde yang lebih sombong lagi ke? I was happy that there's another Malaysian team to root for. I was sure that they will be out by the 3rd leg. Ni mesti jadi team yang asyik nak kena kutuk aje for being diva nanti. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing but admiration and respect for Ida as an actress. No one can be a better Ena Manjalara Wagiman. Tapi tak boleh imagine macam mana dia nak race nanti.

Sekali tu bila dah start race. I'm pleasantly surprise that they were very very good. All task was executed without much complaint or unnecessary squable. Takde nak dengki2 orang. They manage to come in 1st on a few leg. At some points, they are more tougher than the guys. They rarely get lost. And yang paling penting, they are always happy. And take things light - making them to be the most enjoyable team to watch. Paling tak boley lupa Ida Nerina sempat nak beli Merinda Oren from a boat lady walaupun dah penat dayung sampan. A true Malaysian! Apa-apa hal, mesti soru dulu.

It really broke my heart when they did not manage to board the plane in Oman. Satu Malaya kecewa! The other two teams were just lucky. Langsung tak deserve to win. Satu team tu lemau, satu team pulak ada 5 year old yang degil tak nak dengar kata. Aku gelak gila tengok si 5 year old yang insist nak pikul treasure chest tu sorang2 though the girl friend offer nak tolong bawakkan. If they were head to head on that final leg in Phuket, perhaps Ida and Tania would have been the champion.

Hopefully there will be TARA - All Star, and Ida and Tania would be competing in it.

Perasan tak, so far Malaysian team mesti dapat top 3. Indeed Malaysia Boleh!

Where Do I Begin?

Where do I begin
To tell the story of how great a love can be
The sweet love story that is older than the sea
The simple truth about the love he brings to me
Where do I start

Yes. Where do I start? ... No. Ini tiada kaitan langsung pasal cinta or cerita Cinta, Ayat-Ayat Cinta, Ada Apa Dengan Cinta or Selamat Pagi Cinta. I'm so behind with updating me blog. Cerita semua dah jadi basi.... takde inspirasi betul nak menulis.

Sighhhhhhhh.

Let's take a breather and listen to LOVE by Joss Stone. Talented! Soulful! Best banget!Tak tau la macam mana nak cakap.

This LOVE rendition by her was used in Channel - Coco Mademoiselle (a younger version of Channel no 5) tv ads (staring Keira Knightley : vomit) in 2007.

Kencangkan sabuk pengaman anda...

The first time I saw this notice I seriously thot it meant 'kuatkan aircond anda' or something like that. Only after my friend pointed out... it meant "fasten your seat belt.. (or how the pilot announced it "please fasten your shitbelt"..) Hahahhahahah. Ok aku memang jahat.

Those who have been on Air Asia flight to Indonesia would have seen the sign behind each seats. Amazingly, most mat salleh can easily learn bahasa Indonesia rather than bahasa Malaysia. Here' a few phrases that caught my eye while I was in Bali, 2 weeks ago..

The sign above actually says : Ngobrol Tanpa Batas. Bahasa Melayu: Cakap Tanpa Had?

Easy one. Bahasa Melayu: Tandas or dikenali dengan lebih mesra, jamban.

I have no idea what's this in BM. Sebab selalu baca yang english aje. I think it's Tuntutan Bagasi (kot?) in Bahasa Melayu.

How sweet. Hilang dan Temu. Yang ni pun aku tak tahu dlm BM apa. Tah-tah Los and Faun. English word yang diMelayukan. I can't find anything in Google.

Pilihan Lelaki? Gentleman's Choice

Hahahaha I sneaked in a snap of this t-shirt. Anak no 4: Ketut. Anak no 2: Nyoman. Aku gagal nak ingat apa panggilan utk anak sulung or anak no 3.

Ambik kau. Bergayut la sepuas hati. 17 hours of free talk time I suppose.

This is my favorite! You do not need any PTPTN or FAMA scholarship to use it. Tandas Percuma!

Where's the Love? It's not enough...

Remember Hanson? From the Mmmmbop fame? Heheheh. Maybe most remember them for being 3 young brothers, with the cute one on the drums. Well I remember them for this song - Where's the Love. It's has this teenage lollipop kinda of sound. It's a real pick me upper song.

It was a big hit when I was in Uni. One semester it was played on the air every morning while we were getting ready for class.

I'm dedicating this to a friend who's celebrating her 30th Birthday today! Here's to you Kak Non. Hahahahhaha

Something has been going on and I don't know what it is
You don't mind the taking girl, but you don't know how to give
You drove me crazy but I don't know baby
You're thinking that it's me you're fooling
Where's the right in, all of our fighting?
Look at what you're doing
Where's the love
It's not enough
It makes the world go 'round and 'round and...
Where's the love
Just give it up
It makes the world go 'round and 'round and 'round
Can you tell me what you see whenever you look around?
We're tripping all over ourselves and pulling each other down
We're separating, consciousness is fading
Are you thinking that it's me you're fooling?
Where's the right in, all of our fighting?
Look at, look at, look at what we're doing

(Repeat Chorus)

Dark clouds all around, lightning, rain pouring down
Waiting for the bright light to break through
Face down on the ground
Pick us up at the lost and found

We've got to change our point of view, if we want the sky blue
We're segregating, consciences are fading
You're thinking that it's me you're fooling
Where's the right in, all of our fighting
Look at what we're doing

(Repeat Chorus)

Won't you, won't you give it up

Laporan: Melawat 3 Jualan Gudang Dalam Sehari

Pada hari Jumaat itu, saya cuti. Saya bangun awal. Selepas gosok gigi, cuci muka, mandi tapi tak sempat makan roti mahupun minum kopi, saya keluar rumah.

Saya tahan beberapa teksi. Saya kata saya nak pergi Dataran Hamodal di PJ. Pakcik yang pertama terkejut beruk macam tak pernah dengar nama tu. Packik teksi yang kedua terkejut badak pulak. Tapi dia kata, naiklah, tapi kena tunjukkan jalan. Saya suka. Saya pun naik la teksi dia. Masa tu pukul 9 pagi.

Mungkin dia dirasuk hantu askar british, bukan hantu jepun - maaf. Jeritanya membuatkan semua pakcik-pakcik jaga takut nak dekat. Seumur hidup saya, saya tak pernah dgr orang jerit begitu kuat sekali. Bapak saya yang selalu dirasuk jembalang tanah bila marah pun tak begitu mengerunkan berbanding mak lampir ini. Kesian saya tengok anak dia yang kena marah. Tapi dia tak nangis pun. Tabah betul.Saya ingat saya nak tegur mak lampir itu, akan tetapi bila saya mendekati dia saya nampak urat tekak dia macam nak putus, terus saya tak jadi. Takut pulak kalau bebetul kepala dia meletup, nanti terkena percikan isi otak dia pada saya. Kena pulak saya balik rumah mandi dulu. Saya pun jalan cepat-cepat masuk jualan gudang MPH.

Masa tu jam baru 9.45 pagi. Saya pun jalan pusing-pusing MPH. Banyak betul buku. Ruang gudang yang dibuka pun besar. Saya cuma cuci-cuci mata saja, sebab pukul 10 saya nak pergi jualan gudang yang diseberang jalan. Buku-buku ni boleh tunggu.Tapi sebelum keluar tetiba ada orang tanya saya, "do you have any Archie comics?". Dalam hati saya kata, "Darling I have a mini library full of it!", tapi saya kata pada dia.. tak tau la.. sebab saya tak kerja kat sini. Baru saya perasan, saya pakai kemeja T warna merah sama dengan pekerja-pekerja MPH di situ. CEH! Tepat 9.55 saya pun lintas jalan dan masuk pulak jualan gudang zara massimo dutti pull & bear. Memang ngam betul waktu saya, sebab pintu dia memang baru bukak. Nampaknya saya sorang saje yang bukan geng bukit. Nasib saya tidak bawak beg sebab beg kena bungkus dulu dlm plastik sebelum masuk. Setelah masuk, semua orang berpusu2 macam tak tentu hala sebab tak sabar nak rosakkan aturan baju2 yang dah digantung/ dilipat cantik. Setelah 45 minute mengorek, mencampak, mengacu, membelek, menarik, meng tah apa2 lagi, saya pun putus asa. Nampaknya hantu shopping saya dah lari sebab takutkan mak lampir tadi.

Setelah membayar, saya pun turun. Hari macam nak hujan pulak. Perut saya pulak dah berbunyi. Bakul saya pun dah berat, membuatkan tangan saya macam nak patah.

Jam 4.30 petang saya pun balik. Tiba dirumah, saya pun campak barang-barang ini atas katil sebab malas nak kemas. Baru saya teringat hadiah misteri dari MPH tadi. Rupanya spek itam. Laaaaaaaa.

Habis, nak panggil apa?

"Selamat hari raya makcik" said my nephew to my friend K who's the same age as me. "Hey, panggil auntie la" I told them. (Makcik sounded kampung. Sesuai utk Fasha Sendal) . Then, they called everyone Aunty including the my friend's mom. The makcik said, "Acik takde aunty2 ni, panggil Makcik je". Confuse dah. Then my friend introduce me to her 3 year old daughter " Salam aunty ni.... eh ke nak panggil kakak?"

Entah. Aku pun dah tak tau.

Here's my rule of thumb which I thot was bullet proof till today. If the person is a few years older than us, call them kakak or abang. If a lot older mcm boleh jadi mak mentua ke its either makcik or aunty. Makcik is better used in kampung, while if it's in the city or the person macam mod smcm can call aunty. Same rule apply for the men folk. Agak2 yang mcm ada persona Rahim Razali boley la panggil uncle, if tak - pakcik. "How about nenek?" Ahh.. tricky a bit. I'd stay away from calling anyone nenek.. (macam nenek kebayan). But then for kids yang kena address someone yang mcm dah pangkat atuk tu, stick with 'Tok'.

But how to explain to a 10 and 12 year old, the above, while trying to be politically correct? Kecik2 dah diajar membeza2kan orang. So not good. Dah tu macam mana nak explain mod tu apa. To them, sape bagi duit raya banyak = kaya = must be a Datin. Lagi bagus.

There's other example. Those who are single, how many times you get telemarketer calling you 'Puan'? To me that's automatic red card and if I'm really not in the mood mau letak aje telefon. Those who are slightly smarter (or maybe their call center script writer are full of single woman), would ask.. "maaf ye, ini Puan ke Cik". I bet the Puans would answer confidently "ye Puan", while the Ciks... would shippishly say "cik...." or an angry " CIK LA". I thot during this age of information techonology, you'd have all the details of cik ke puan ke mmg cik puan in your DB. Sighhhhh I've reach my acceptance phase, Puan pun Puan la. Aku tetap tak beli barang kau.

So how about at kedai makan?

Tapi yang kelakar bapak aku panggil semua org 'bang' or 'kak'. Padahal orang tu semua macam dah pangkat anak kat dia. But then he said kang kalau aku panggil adik.. org kata gatal pulak. Ye jugak.

Maybe it's just a girl thing to worry about how we should be address. Guys tak kisah kot.

So, nak panggil aku apa?

I do answer to "Mak Lampir"... hahahahaha

Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin

Posted by Picasa

Dulu, everytime raya, mesti kena gambar macam tangga ni. Yang Eldest to the youngest. Ada macam2 version. Version cucu2 aje. Version adik beradik je. Version sepupu2 je. The picture above was taken during hari raya 2002. From the left: Anees aka Cik Tonah Tahi Lalat, Hamzah aka Hamstead, Amirah aka Miya, Fares aka Parit and Hanani aka Kakak.

This is what they look like last hari raya.

(if tgk gambo aku during hari raya over the years.. tak payah la.. menakutkan bak kata Sarimah pun)

Selamat Hari Raya & Maaf Zahir dan Batin

Dryerku sakit

Amongst all the appliances in my house, the dryer is my favorite! The joy of not having to hang 30 kg of wet clothes is uncomparable! Tiada bandingannya.

But on Sunday, I got a terrible news. Dah la the night before kerja and tak tido due to MAJOR problems at work. The dryer won't start! Oh tidak! Did it finally breakdown and having a strike due to my endless load of clothes?

So I went home and take a look at it. The start button just won't stick. You need to jam something to make it stuck. Adoi! I rummage thru my drawers to look for it's warranty card, but I don't think it's still under warranty. Dah setahun lebih dah. So I look up the net instead to look for Ariston Malaysia and it's contact number.

Yippee... manage to speak to someone, and they pass me to the Service Center. Yeay! Someone is coming over to have look at the dryer. "You know aa the service charge is RM70, parts additional" Yes yes.. I don't care. Do you not hear that the dryer won't start? My world is falling apart here.. (while I ignore the pile of laundry that is starting to build up)

So, yesterday the service dude came over. I was a little bit anxious sbb dia lambat. But 45 minutes later he arrives at my doorstep.

Repair dude :" Mana you punya dryer?"
Me (slightly bowing): " Di belakang (tuan doktor)"
Repair dude: " Ok apa masalahnya?"
Me: "Tak mau nak start la.. tgk I push button ni.. dia start tapi lepas tu dia stop balik"
Repair dude: "Hmmmm..."
Me: (please don't say it's really dying... erk)

Ok stand back, he's opening it up. 2 screw and the top is off. Oooo some circuit board is faulty. And he brought the part with him. 5 minutes later, done. My dryer came alive as it should.
Alhamdullilah.

Repair dude : "Ok service charge Rm70, ini part Rm 180. Semua RM250"
Me: (cursing in my heart... Celaka, tak sampai 5 minit, RM250? WHAT the F)

Tapi takpe la... yang penting dryerku kembali alive and spinning. I still owe my father for RM100. But it's worth it I suppose. I'm off to do laundry now :)

Return from Helm's Deep

Hello World!

Finally one of the major shite's at the office dah complete. After 3 reschedule, 1 last minutes cancellation... finally the planned activity went thru. Tamatlah penyeksaan aku. Adoi.. maybe there's spill over of shit from last weekend, tapi aku tak pedulik! Lantak la.. I'll deal with it when I have to. Baru la ada mood nak memblog.

Next week I'm going for training, so it's a week of hotel food yeay!!!! Then 3 days work and off to holiday! But before that ada lagi a few hurdle's of other shites waiting. Till then, I'm so going to enjoy singing Easy from Lionel Ritchie / Commodores

Know it sounds funny,
But I just can't stand the pain
Girl I'm leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl,
You know I've done all I can
You see I begged, stole, And I borrowed

Ooh, that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
That's why I'm easyI'm easy like Sunday morning

Why in the world,
Would anybody put chains on me?
I've paid my dues to make it
Everybody wants me to be,
What they want me to be
I'm not happy when I try to fake it!
No! Ooh, that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning

I wanna be high, so high
I wanna be free to know
The things I do are right
I wanna be free

Just me, babe!
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
Because I'm easy
Easy like Sunday morning
Because I'm easy
Easy like Sunday morning

Kakak: "Hai, suka hati korang la"
Sampai sudah, aku pun tak tau siapa Clover, siapa Alex, siapa Sam. Lepas tu ada jugak cita-cita nak jadi Charlie's Angel.

3 ekor arnab junior, Happy Birthday!

Rangkuman sukan

What's been happening in the sporting world these few weeks? Let see, what bits and pieces that I can remember.

US Open - Andy Murray beat world no 1 Nadal. Best tennis I've seen this year. Nadal macam terpaku tak boleh kejar bola. But Andy was crushed by Roger in the finals. Sad.

F1 - Kesian Hamilton was deducted point for missing a corner in Belgium. But dun really care cause it promoted Nick Heidfeld to 2nd place. And leave the driver championship open.Torro Rosso won Italian GP! Never underestimate the underdog. Then there's this rumors saying that Alonso might be joining BMW Sauber next season. Gag! Even worst, someone is suggesting that F1 cars should be using the same engine? Duh WTF? Ever heard of A1 GP?

Badminton - Roslin Hashim is back in the fray. Takdde ke org yang muda2 nak main badminton?

Footie - Chelsea is winning and Manure is NOT. Chelsea is at the top of the table. Can't wait for this Sunday Chelsea vs Manure at Arsene still dun want to list Theo Walcott as first 11 despite him scoring a hatrick for England. Have to agree with him on that, sbb nanti mesti dia besar kepala. Dan yang penting, si Cantik Tertarik Kau Memang da Bomb are scoring goals! You are numnero uno.Yipeeee

R.E.S.P.E.C.T

Have we ever ponder what it really means? Here's one definition: "Willingness to show consideration or appreciation". Here's another one: "courteous regard for people's feelings"

This week the media circus revolves around the ISA. Not that I'm 100% with it, tapi it does serve one purpose: to remove people who do not know how to respect others, from the society. No question ask. If you do not know how to respect others, don't expect to get one back. If you get "dog food" while being detained, most probably you deserved it.

Sentimen perkauman and agama, is a difinite NO-NO to me. Jangan dipersoalkan. Unfortunately, politician these days suka sangat nak menggunakannya. Suka nak melaga-lagakan orang. No respect at all.

Everyday as soon as I step into my office, I meet Melayu, Cina, India, Mat Salleh, Indon, Pinoy, Honki.. semua ada. We smile at each other in the elevator. I held doors for them, they held doors for me. We adapt each others language into our daily conversation with all the lah, lor, ho, ma and deys. Just the other day, my chinese friend apologise to me because he forgot that I was fasting and he was eating in front of me. They teman me to sahur. They cover for me for the up coming raya and all ok with my long break. Because come Deepavali and CNY, I will cover for them and be ok with it.
Masa sekolah, I had Malay, Chinese, Indian teachers and friends. Our home in Batu Pahat are surrounded by Chinese family and their dogs. The guy who came over and install my Astro is Chinese. The dude selling me my morning paper is Indian. We are everywhere, in each others way, breathing down each others neck.
Tak mati pun. Benci macam mana pun we make it work.
Nak mintak queen of england save them? Apakah? Ingat if we don't respect each other, boleh ke orang nak pecah-pecah kelapa tengah jalan? Nak bakar "BMW", "ipod", "MacBook", "banglo" untuk atuk nenek depa in open air? Nak ada death possesion siap dengan band with flame thrower in the middle of the town? No. No question asked. Out of respect of one another.
I'm pissed at these people who think they are such heroes but actually making us hate and uncomfortable with one another. If you seriously hardcore sangat nak jadi rock melayu or geng bukit or hindraf - maybe Malaysia is not for you.
Aiyo, wa pu chi tau lah!

Ada apa dengan pingat emas?

I am disappointed. Sad, perhaps. I'm sure I'll get over it. Dunno if he can though. To beat Lin Dan in his own backyard is definitely not an easy thing to do. I suppose we were all hoping for a close match. A 3 set thriller that will leave us with high spirit to go to work on Monday.

Whatever it is, all of us are just "cakap aje lebih". I bet if we had to stand in front of 40thousand Lin Dan supporters and knowing that the whole Malaysia is counting on us, mau terkencing kot. And I have to say, coach Malaysia jugak yang bagus and can produce World No 2 and olympic finalist. Tak hebat tu?

So, bro - walau pun kau terpaku dan terpukau melihat biceps and triceps Lin Dan, gua tetap tabik spring!

To Misbun, wa caya lu!

Yezzaaaa 4 -0 for a season opener. And who else should score the first goal?

Si Cantik Tertarik Kau Memang da Bomb - of course!

Aircon @ KLPac?

Wah macam ada acara marathon blogging pulak. This is my dunno what # entry for these few hours. Truth be told, ada banyak documentation nak kena buat, tapi dah almost 1 week I had not even have the title of the document written down. Harapnya dengan memblog dapatlah my creative juices flow and inspire me to start the F***ing document.

Where is the energy that I once have zaman kat uni dulu. Completing (copying) assignment in the last minute, burning the midnite oil with team members to complete a project - documentation , presentation and a working (dummy) front end of a supermarket check out system. All in one night

Was there 'ice' or 'speed' diluted into the water from the watercooler?

Apa kaitan dengan Aircon? Takde benda, accept that I actually wanted to write that I saw a teater performance called Aircon. The ticket (priced RM42), tak bayar lagi to my friend.

They had ads running in Astro, with tag line that goes something like - who killed Aishwarya something something. Its about a boarding school, murder and boys with hockey stick. So far, interesting. Tapi apasal title aircon? Will be explained shortly.

But first, the teater was staged at KLPac - KL Performing Arts Center. In Sentul. A place that is very foreign to me. I surf the net and found that there's actually 2 Star LRT stations nearby. Cantek. Except that I left home quite late and sampai late.

Right. As soon as I reach the Star LRT, I asked the ticket clerk, which station is nearer to the KLPac? The replied was a puzzled "KLPac?" This is not good. The website does say that there's also a KTM komuter station nearby the KLPac. So I asked again, where's the nearest connecting station from Star to Komuter. "Bandaraya, lepas tu naik Komuter kat Bank Negara" "Err.. kena lintas sungai tu eh dek? Dari Sogo tu?" "Haah". Ok forget it. 1) Pantang tok nenek aku nak kena jalan jauh and 2) Sudah lambat. So I took a gamble and choose to buy ticket to Sentul Star LRT.

The show should start at 3pm. 2.50 pm aku baru terkedek2 nak turun dari Star Sentul, which is smack behind rumah2 flat. No main road in sight. No cab. Wah kehidupan semakin menarik. I just walk to the first taxi stand that I saw. There's a kaka also waiting for a cab. I asked her if she's from around. She said yes. Then I asked her, tau tak KLPac kat mana. "KLPac?" Pause. Blank face. I offered a bit more info that I know, "Rasanya dekat Sentul East ke West tah. Yang YTL develop tu. Ada teater". "Oooo Sentul East tu kat sana", pointing behind me. "Tapi KL Pac tak tau". Apa la kejadah orang panggil KL Pac ni? Semua orang tak tau.

Then a taxi came. To my surprise, kakak tu ajak naik sekali. "I hantar you kat luar sana tu. Nanti you tanya lah orang". Set.. ada la harapan sket. So during the less than 5 minutes ride, the kakak pointed to me a Tamil Movie Teater " Bukan yang tu dik?" Though I had 10 good comeback for the question, I politely said, "Eh tak rasanya". Ye la kang dia sepak aku kuar, tak pasal pulak aku kena posing depan panggung tu pulak. We came to a main road, and the kakak asked the taxi driver to drop me off at a petrol station. I wanted to paid her, but she declined. Terima Kasih daun keladi kak. In fact, she said " ok, see you lagi" which is ironic, sebab the chances are slim. Maybe we should all train ourselves to just say goodbye when we part ways. Pun begitu, semoga murah rezeki kakak tu.

As I stood by the road side, scratching my head for my next move, I suddenly realised someting. Right across the street, in front of me is a gated area with a guard house which has a small sign that says KLPac. Alhamdulillah. Sampai jugak aku. So I crossed the street and came to the guard house. "KL Pac?" "Terus.. dalam". Finally!

Err... only to discover, alamak what a loooooooong way "terus dalam" it is. I saw some building about 700-800 metres ahead. Pantang tak pantang, kena la jugak aku jalan. It's 3pm in a Malaysia afternoon heat. Joy to the World indeed. As I reach the first building my heart sank, "YTL sales office". OK perhaps it's the next one. Nope.. the next one? No. By now, I have walked for almost 1Km. My body is so not build for this.

I saw a dude trimming some bushes, so I asked him, "KLPac?" "Straight maam". Eh this dude can't be right, there's nothing straight ahead but some run down looking warehouse. Perhaps, it's the building behind this one. Let me check it out..... "Maam, no.. straight. Straight" Gesturing me to continue ahead into the blistering hot weather. By then I am sweating profusely. Dah tak glam dah.

I passed the warehouses and there's some more scarry looking dudes loitering around there. I thot to myself. "My,my.. what a great afternoon to be robbed and murdered" But then again, being dead is not a bad option at that time. Another 10 minutes of walking, the road suddenly opened up to a beautiful landscape. I saw a field, a lake and some condos...and a car park. Ah getting warmer (literally!). Then walking.. and walking lagi, ah... I start to see some banners that say KLPac. And... as my heart and leg about to give up. I reached the main entrance of the KLPac.

So, now I can start asking a different question, "Aircon?" "Pentas dua". I smiled and silently cursing in my heart. Mana la pulak tu. Luckily I'm not far off. My friend left my ticket at the counter. So I picked it up and went in. I was about 20-30 minutes late. Malu la jugak masuk lambat sebab format of the stage is very open. From my seats I can see the nostrils of the actors. Dekat gila.

2 minutes into the show... I realized that "Wow! Berani gila teater ni" The actors dialogs are full of sexual inuendos. Openly saying things like "K*t*","P*l*r*, kulum la apa la. Aku yang dah gila ke apa ni? Has the heat fried my brain and hearing? Maybe to some it is offending. I do find some of the story line and dialogs a bit too much and making me questioning my sanity. Tapi keberanian this bunch of guys delivering these lines makes the audience, me included, laughing and glued to our seats. (Either that, or all of us have to admit that we are actually pretending that we are so urban, that we didn't find this, hardly disturbing at all. Heheheh.Entah la)

The story basically revolves around an all boys boarding school, where a pondan prostitude (Aishwarya) was found dead - murdered, at a nearby train station. The heartthrob of the school kononnya macam adik angkat to the pondan. So who killed this pondan?
Same sex school gives the background of the real issue of the teater - kids starting to discover their sexuality. And since it's all boys, ada la masuk bab-bab nak jadi gay. (In fact 80% it's about gay pun :P). And ada la jugak scene2 main belakang. Which sangat menakutkan. I distinctively notice a bunch of old dudes seating on the front rows. Gelak macam tak ingat dunia. Agaknya remind them of their boarding school days. Hish, menakutkan!

So who killed Aishwarya? It was the best mate to the heartthrob, who secretly has a crush on him, though thruout the performance, he hates pondan and act so the very macho. I thot it was the macam bagus Ustaz, rupanya tak. Anyway, It was enjoyable la. But not for kids definitely. Whoever's from a boarding school especially all-boys or all-girls school boleh la relate kot. The actors are very talented. We all agreed that the character called Mimi is the best! He's not the heartthrob, but he sure is funny! Read more here. Also I found some reviews about it in other blogs: here and here

Tapi, kenapa title dia Aircon? Well thruout the performance ada apek yang kena betulkan "aircond" in the the prefects room. Maybe an implied meaning which I don't get. But as "Kak" Aishwarya explained, aircon is actually giving a BJ while sucking a Hacks (ha gula-gula tu) in your mouth. Berangin.

Ambik kau! Too much shocking culture-exposure for one afternoon for me, if you ask.

Ole Ole Bandung - 2008

Last year we went to Bandung. Balik on the day of first puasa. Seksa betul sebab kelaparan. We sort of vow not to come back sebab terasa macam semua benda yang nak beli dah beli.

Somehow, the free airfare macam enticing pulak. So with a RM324 per person package (return airafre + 3D2N hotel stay), we are back in Bandung.

Let the extreme shopping begin!

Tak perlulah nak cerita pasal shopping extravaganza kitaorang. Suffice to say, baggageku overload, shopping till last minute sampai nak terlepas flight and at one time tu, aku dah duduk aje sambil ask the shop assistance to bring all the jeans in the size that I want, and I literally choose them of their hand. Macam point and click, tapi with real people.

Aside from the FOs and JCo scatter around town, Bandung is actually a food haven. If you are ever going there, do try the food off the hawker's carts by the road side. Sekali tengok memang macam tak sanggup nak try, but believe me, most of them - sedap BANGET!

I tried the Ice Cream Durian, despite deep down I know mesti sakit tekak lepas tu. It cost about Rp6000 (RM2 kot) or was it Rp 7000 or Rp12000. Entah la. They are everywhere, in all street corner. Tidak dapatlah saya nak menahan diri. It is served in a plastic cup. First, put in some durian (ye.. durian betul, yang keluar dari buah durian and bukan some cheapo ice cream durian), then a few scoop of vanilla flavoured ice cream, then put some more durian and top it off with susu cair. Voila! After a few spoonful, serious terasa nak makan dengan tangan aje. Tak ambik plak gambo sebab sedap sangat lepas habis baru teringat nak ambik gambo.

Then there's this thing call batagor. Imagine macam cucur udang dengan juah kacang. Tapi instead of udang.. aku tak tau la dia letak apa. Tapi sedap sangat. Makan panas-panas, sambil blasah dengan ice cream durian. Hanya dengan kuasa Allah saje, aku tak kena sakit perut hari tu.

And serious kuda, kena try nasi padang dia. We went to this restaurant called Simpang Raya. RM34 for two person for lunch. Lauk pauk yang datang dekat 15 jenis agaknya. Rambang mata. Tapi kesedapannya, masih teringat sampai hari ni. If kat KL, makan dua orang , 2-3 lauk dah RM50.
Dan yang paling grande sekali to me. Is the nasi goreng. 2 malam aku dok mencari cart jual nasi goreng ni. Akhirnya, ketemu juga. Macam nampak apa je. Yang ni memang special sampai aku suruh brader tu posing sambil goreng nasi. We tried this the last time from a cart across town. Rasanya sama. Maintain standard. Agaknya ada special school train depa ni goreng nasi. Harganya Rp6000.

Boley request nak pedas ke tidak. And it is served with a pack of keropok. Boley nak tapau or makan kat tepi jalan tu jugak.

Mari kuperkenalkan nasi goreng turun dari langit

Seringkali - Damn it,Malik!

Still about the film award show

Ct sang Sharipah Aini's Hapuslah Airmatamu. Hands down memang dia talented. Suara sedap. But then, given the scandal/gossip that occurred some years ago... isn't it weird?

No, I'm not going to talk about it. I want to talk about Maman's Seringkali that the dude from Def Cab C sang. Ahhhh... there can only be one Maman. Pun begitu, the song brought back fond memories. Damn it, Malik - Layar Lara Soundtrack is one of the best album EVER. And let's not even start with the movie and Ena Manjalara binti Wagiman.. hahahha

Sadly, dulu tak mampu nak beli CD. I just own the casette.. which dah hilang. So, where can we find a 10 year old album?

Anyhoo, enjoy this performance by Maman singing Seringkali, which I found on youtube

Seringkali, aku hanyut dalam bayangan

Berterbangan perasaan ini... walau

Kau ku gambarkan dalam lamunan

Diri ini selalu ingin bersamamu

Bila ku terkenang kemesraan bersamamu sayang

Masihkah aku di hatimu

Masih jauh rasanya perjalanan ini

Bilakah masanya harus jua aku kecapi

Walau ranjau penuh berduri

Ingin kita kecapi bersama

Walau gambaran yang ku gambarkan

Yang seringkali, ku renungkan

Menjadi lukisan di jiwaku

What does this two have in common?

Famous Actress/Director
and

Hiro Nakamura

Overheard during the recent award ceremony
Presenter (famous actress/director): "Pemenang Pengarah Harapan.. ahh mak punya fevret...
HAN ISAK!!"

Han Isak? Tetiba nampak Hans Isaac bangun... Ooooo Hans Isaac.

So that makes two people who can't pronounce Isaac properly. But I'm sure the one of them did it on purpose. Am I evil? As Hiro Nakamura would apologize, "opps suri!"

08-08-08 'Ong'limpik

Can't believe that I did not blog on the the triple 8 date.

So there was the opening ceremony. So there were 14 thousand people. The countdown on the drums really impress me. Nasib baik Malaysia dah keluar awal2. By the time pulau2 apa yang aku tak pernah dgr tu keluar, aku dah tido pun. Aku tgk nyonya yang terkinja2 tgh padang tu pun mcm dah tak bergerak dah. I missed the lighting of the torch. Saw it the next day. Berapa banayak suspense wire la yang diaorg pakai.

Aku masih tak tahu macam mana the 'globe' tu boley keluar from the middle of the field. How high was the stage? Hmmm...

It was said that the facilities cost China 37.5 bilion. They sure went for the whole 9 yard. Untuk archery yang boley buat kat padang sekolah tu pun ada stadium on its own. But seriously, the Bird's Nest or the Ice Cube didn't really capture my interest. Neither Phelps 11 gold medals.

But this....

Pernah dengar Canoe/Kayak Slalom? I have never either till today. Just imagine skiing slalom, but instead of using ski to manuver around the obstacles, use have to paddle your canoe around it. Or better still, like going whitewater canoing but with obstacles. BEST GILA! Read more here

Aparently this is not new. Previous games pun dah ada. How could I miss it? This afternoon's event delayed pulak sebab bad weather.

Tapi aku tetap tabik spring sebab they build a man made course for this. Imagine lepas ni orang semua boley datang situ and try it out. Macam theme park. Read abou the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park here

On other news, last man standing - Lee Chong Wei made it to the semis. Good luck bro! Malaysia Boleh!
