If you haven't heard of Batu Pahat, Johor, you would've probably hear it by now. For the past few days, it's all over the news. If you watched the tv, you probably have seen half of the town featured... from 4 star hotels to the Courthouse. Heck, even the traffic reports on the radio is including the traffic condition over there. "There's no congestion reported in Batu Pahat, Johor"...."And in Batu Pahat, Johor, traffic's looking clear". Why thank you, for reporting though I was driving in KL. Good to hear that all is well in my hometown.
So why Batu Pahat rocks?
10. If we eat nasi Beryani for breakfast, no one bats an eye.
9. There's goreng pisang stall at every corner of the town.
8. There's a Secret Recipe
7. There's a Carrefour
6. There's a BMW dealership
5. Everything sold at the pasar malam are actually sedap
4. Lontong Kering!
3. Hotel security's pretty tight that there's CCTV everywhere
2. The town has an endless supply of gossips - from celeb getting divorce to religious cult getting gunned down to politician in DVD
1. The auntie at the hair saloon where you frequented moonlights as DVD producer and distributor (nothing is cooler than this!)
Seriously.
I find the whole thing rather amusing. A big 'So what?'. There's a lot like it out there, just waiting to surface when least expected. I was hoping that the ex Minister would actually hold his initial stand. He handled everything rather well. I'm not saying that what he did was right. It's a big mistake. And he paid for it. So let's move on to the next gossip folks. Have a good weekend!
p/s: the hair saloon in Taman Bukit Perdana is just a 5 minutes drive from my home. Hahahha
pp/s: off to watch the news... just in case they feature my favorite bakery next
