AJL-22 - Itu Kamu!

First impression - colors! Everywhere.. all hues of colors! Ni ke makna music is magic? Magic = music = colorful like clowns who does magic? Apa punya logic ni? Ally Iskandar n FF was in kaler kuning taik anjing. So not flattering. Lepas tu ada pulak, ally and faisal in purple shirt. Apa ni, purple rain ke. Ally, grey pinstrip does not work at night, at award shows. Tak kena sial. At the end of the show, dah semua pulak pakai..merah..or maroon? Baju FF was like tah apa2... Ally looks like austin powers and Faisal mcm Jefri Din minus the sunnies. Only Cheryl aje yg nampak elok. Satu lagi tak tahan sbb eye shadow FF mcm over.

Harkkk.. let's get on with the actual show:

1. First up was Jimbara - with Farhana Puteri Bumi Kenyalang (I thot I heard Ally said.. Puteri Bunian, hahaha)Performance: The opening was good. The voice was very composed. Tapi ada terkucil sket masa nak switch to the electric guitars.

Costume (get-up or what ever they call it) color: Pink, Blue, Orange, Red, Green

Gimmic (special effect?): Started up with guitar kapak, then switch to rocking beat on electric guitars

Tekanan perasaan factor: Jimbara was like The Wonders in That Thing You Do. The wonders would either wear a set of gold... blue..or maroon. Jimbara (who couldn't settle for one color) Pink, Orange, Blue, Red and I swear.. really swear that the brother in Hijau Pucuk Pisang... was blushing when the camera pan on him... "Hai malunya aku rock kapak, tapi org nampak pakai kaler baju mcm Ina Naim". Apa kejad, kejad har!

2.Next, Nora singing Samudera

Performance: Nora looks confident, but a bit overdoing it. The vocals was almost shouting.

Costume color: Blue, silver

Gimmic: dancers that looks like pirates (?!) with flowy, flowy kain to show it's really samudera on the stage. Tekanan perasaan factor: She was wearing a silver chain/earing that seems to hook to her hair. Mcm mana tu?

3. Then it was Fazli Zainal (Hazami protege - enuff said) with Harapan

Performance: Vocal was good.. but appear trying too hard.

Costume color: Merahnya, mak ngah. Cong Xi Fa Cai bro!

Gimmic: Choir of nicely dressed (finally!!!) guys and girlsTekanan perasaan factor: there were actually bubbles blowing all over the stage. How can I take you seriously man?

4. Next, was Datuk Siti Nurhaliza with Destinasi Cinta

Performance: The opening - some people would go.. WTF?!.. some would go.. WOwweee... Well, if you have to guess which one is my reaction, you don't know me at all. No doubt, vocally she delivers. The dance part.. yawnnnn.

Costume (yg ni mmg costume!!!!) color : Green, black. But I have to say, I lobes the boots, tho!

Gimmic: brought in huge flags.. or banner.. or panji2 kebesaran negara gohead gostan.

Tekanan perasaan factor: OMG! The whole thing was like Sherrif of Nottingham Forrest meets King Saladin. I was half expecting Robin Hood and Little John galloping in the stadium on horses.... shooting arrows at people who does not sms for Siti!

5. Then it was the one that I was waiting for, Fiq - Mahakarya Cinta

Performance: Well what can I say, if Faizal was singing, the song would sound better. But I think Fiq did a good job. There are some points that he didn't reach the notes.. tapi bila dah nyanyi melutut... sampai dik.. sampai.

Costume color: White

Gimmic: he came alone.. hahahahhahahaha

Tekanan perasaan factor: Takde benda sgt.

6. Next, Aisyah with Kasihnya Balkis

Performance: Vocal mantap beb! Tapi towards the end mcm dah hilang steam sket.

Costume color: Gold

Gimmic: The short drama with pirates dancers again!

7. Then it was Misha Omar and Andy with Sembunyi

Performance: The were no chemistry between the two of them. Andy mcm nak sembunyi... Misha mcm nak main sembunyi-sembunyi. Misha was singing her hearts out.. (equipped with the usual kicking mcm nak start motor). Andy... well, suara mmg tak kuar.

Costume color: Pink.. or army green. Ok I have to comment the costume. What exactly happen here? Andy wanted to wear marching band costume.. but Misha still wants to wear a girly dress? And oh yes.. the glittering jeans. PLEASE.ENOUGH.BUANG.SEKARANG!

Gimmic: Misha Omar in glittering jeans. That must be it :P

Tekanan persaaan factor: the clothes. And sometimes... at certain angle, Misha looks like the alien from alien versus predator. Ok aku jahat... ampun.

8. After that, yeay!!! Sofaz with Janjiku.

Performance: The band was playing great. The vocal mcm kureng sket. But at least there were some connection with the audience... OK gak. I love the song by the way.

Costume color: hahahah yg ni I have to say, KUDOS! Finally someone who came out as they are. Keep it real!Gimmic: The bridge with just the drums was nice.

Tekanan perasaan factor: If the vocal was a little bit better...lagi ngam.

9. Next is Sahri with Kaer's Izinkan Ku Pergi

Performance: Of course Sahri can sing. But where is Kaer?

Costume Color: Maroon (ala2 Elton John pulak)

Gimmic: Nothing much.. there were some movement on the stage.. but did not caught my attention at all.

Tekanan Persaan Factor: Someone creepy under a silver cloak reading a poem or what, holding a candle?!!! Dead Poet Society, anyone?

10. Then it was Mawi's turn. Singing Angan dan Sedar.

Performance: Hahahahahha.... what can I say. Mawi did sing from the heart walaupun vocal tak la hebat sgt. He did keep it real! I think the audience suddenly woke up. Up to this point, everyone was singing in very controlled.. poised way. Mamat ni hentam aje... but he did enjoy himself.

Costume color: White, then it was brown (err?!!!!) suit

Gimmic: Hahahhaha ada magic show, with Mawi doing costume change. And ada little girl in white tracksuit. Vair comel.

Tekanan perasaan factor: is it me or... aku rasa mcm Mawi punya dancers mcm multiply tetiba as the song continues. Makin lama makin ramai

11. Lepas tu, Jac and Lah with Ceritera Cinta
Performance: OMMMMGGGG! Meremang bulu roma listen to the two of them. It was as if it's only the two of them in the big stadium. As if the world revolves only around them. The voice complements each other. The chemistry was going of the charts! EXCELLENT! I know Jac will deliver, but Lah impress me most sbb can sing with Jac.

Costume Color: Maroon, white.

Gimmic: None needed. The two of them is just enough.

Tekanan Persaan Factor: NONE! I LIKE.

12. Another one that I have been waiting for, Estranged with Itu Kamu
Performance: Ok Rich's voice was a bit sengau at the begining. But the different runs that they did, together with the orchestra backups.. was great!

Costume Color: Again... another band remember to come as they are. Yeay!

Tekanan Persaan Factor: Nothing much.. all was good.

13. Up next, Ramlah Ram with Dirgahayu, yeayyy!
Performance: Ok la... the voice is not bad... tapi mmg Kak Melah dah tak boley jerit.

Costume Color: Black. (YS so like the dress)

Gimmic: dancers from RTM.

Tekanan Persaan Factor: Kipas hijau merah... and ada Vogue moment.. where all dancers line up in single line.. then tangan satu2 kuar bukak kipas tu. OOOiiiiii.. so the 1980s.

14. Finally Bob with Kasih Tercipta

Performance: Bob sang really well.

Costume Color: Black (with gold waist coat?!)

Gimmic: None

Tekanan Persaan Factor: None

Ok then it was the extra performance or what ever you call it. First stop, the mayor of Funkytown himself - Hazami with Katakanlah. I like! The jacket with his H crest looks good too. Then it was Hattan with Dayang. Ok i hate Search songs sang by others...esp if the others is wearing sunglasses at night and the other one wearing a silver glittering heels. Then it was Nicki, full of attitude (in a good way I mean). The dancers with the red headress was not necessary tho. Ziana Zain dressed in white (I vote best dress), sang Anuar's Keabadian Cinta. I was hoping that she will sing her.."sekebun cinta" song... but ok la.. not bad. Closing was dissapointing. Not that the Lima was bad, tapi lagu tu mcm brought the mood down. I think they should have stopped with Ziana on Keabadian cinta.

So how did the night fare:
- Best Vocal: Jac and Lah. Spot On! Yeay

- Best Performance: Mawi. Yeay!

- Best Song for Etnik Kreatif: Samudera - Nora

- Best Song for Pop Rock: YEAYYYYYYYY! I knew it. Itu Kamu - Estranged

- Best Song for Balada: Errrr... this one is not expected. Izinkan ku pergi - Sahri

- BEST SONG: ITTTTUUUUUU KAMMMMMUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU - I ABSOLUTELY LOBES THIS SONG! Congratulations Estranged. Kudos judges for choosing something new and fresh!

Last sekali, my two cents of apa kejad, kejadhar:

-Kaer kenapa tak nyanyi sendiri?

-Vair sorry for Faizal Tahir. I don't agree with the decision of not allowing him to perform. It's too harsh. Stupid harsh!
